We believe food is the ultimate connector.

Hi! I’m Sara.

I grew up in a food-obsessed family. Lively dinner table discussions centered on plans for our next meal. Family trips were built around what and where we’d be eating. After school, I sat at the kitchen counter devouring my mother’s issues of Gourmet magazine (RIP) while snacking on less-gourmet ‘90s classics like Dunkaroos.

I was always drawn to the kitchen. When my grandmother made her famous matzo ball soup, or my best friend's mom prepared a gorgeous Diwali feast, or my husband's Syrian grandmother delicately shaped and fried her kibbeh, I found myself beside them – watching, asking, tasting.

In high school, my friends and I started a "gourmet club". In college, I pitched myself as the food editor for the student paper. No one was very surprised when I quit my job to enroll in culinary school a few years later.

I read cookbooks as if they were novels and love uncovering the stories behind the food and the people behind the recipes.

Food holds immense power.

It brings people together.

It helps us find common ground.

It fosters connection in a fractured time.

And it highlights and celebrates our diversity in unique and authentic ways.

This love of food and its ability to connect people is at the heart of everything we do at SLR Creative.

Whether we are developing a cookbook for a Fortune 500 company as part of a DEI initiative or helping a non-profit raise money with a curated cookbook that aligns with its mission, our goal is always the same:

Telling powerful stories and connecting communities through food.

What story do you want to tell? We can help.
